GORDY NEEDS A  FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: GORDY     Breed: YELLOW LAB MIX

Approximate Age: 12 WEEKS    SEX: MALE

Approximate Weight: 12 LBS.

Has Lived With: Other Dogs

Currently Living at: DC foster

Special adoption considerations:   Young puppy, frequent potty breaks and socialization needed, commitment to neuter by 6 months, additional vaccinations needed.

Hello humans!  My name is gordy and I am one adorable puppy!!!  My brothers and I had a ruff start to life but we are so ready to come to DC to find our furever homes!

I love to play with my sibling and have lots of puppy wrestle sessions! I want to be home for the holidays and be able to go rompin' around my very own yard jumpin' in piles of colorful leaves.  My dream would be long walks, doggy parks, peanut butter kongs and a warm bed to call all mine - I promise I'll be a good boy so Santa Paws comes and visits me! The shelter says I was a little bit shy when I first arrived but after time in a loving foster home I have blossomed.  I love my naps and cuddles!

Since I am soo young, I will be a big responsibility and take a lot of time, lookin' after and training.  I am a blank slate ready to be trained and molded into your perfect pup!  I will probably be good with kids and cats since I am just a puppy but I have never lived with them officially so if you have a feline friend my lucky dog friends can test me out!

I'm just a little guy so I'll need lots of looking after.  I'm sorry to say that if you work 9-5 away from home you aren't a good fit for me unless you can show documentation of a multiple times a day dog walker.

So what in the name of milkbones are you waiting for....fill out the application and send it to my adoption coordinator!  I am trying to wait patiently...wiggle...wiggle...wiggle!

Gordy is not old enough to have had all of his vaccines.  It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time.  Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Due to his young age, Gordy has not yet been neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the   adopter  , to ensure that this is done no later than 2/18/17 - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.

Like all puppies, Gordy will need to work on his housetraining. He will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Ali at Alip@luckydoganimalrescue.org!

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
