Sophie loves her people more than anything..she's a little lap-dog extraordinaire and derives so much joy from her time spent with kind, dog-loving people.
This adorable pup exudes love and loyalty...and it's catching! Sophie's tough early life doesn't seem to have left scars on the personality of this devoted and sweet pup. Her bond to her people leads us to believe that Sophie would be happiest in the home of retirees or family with older, dog-crazy children. She would blossom with the time and attention that these types of families offer.
Sophie is so portable at just 8 lbs that she is able to accompany her family just about anywhere...be it under the seat on a plane or riding shotgun in the car..Sophie is ready and willing. She is a welcome guest in every situation...when comfortable, her joy starts with her little wagging tail and works its way to the smile on her cuter-than-cute face. Watch out - before you know it, she's crept into your lap and snuggled up to spend time together. Sophie has an amazing attitude for a dog from a scary shelter... but it was her great temperament that saved this sweet girl's life.
Sophie would be very happy in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, walks, play time and tons of hugs. A beginning positive reinforcement obedience group class will create additional family bonding as well as promoting great behavior and confidence.
Sophie, being a Poodle/Dachshund mix is a non-shedding...or very lightly shedding pup. She will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her beautiful Poodle-like coat silky-soft and matt-free.
Sophie will arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 12/2/16. If interested in this sweet and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to email@example.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
