My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Koda Bear is a majestic, one-of-a-kind goober of a dog! Sadly, Koda has been handed off person to person his entire life.

Koda Bear has an adorable face and great personality that attracts lots of attention and interest, but he has been returned from 2 official adoptions-- (1st time the resident dogs didn't like him, 2nd time Koda was acting discontent not sleeping through the night + a young child who could not play nice with Koda, though Koda remained gentle and very well behaved the entire time)-- and 3 trial adoptions.

We've learned a lot about what the perfect home for Koda Bear would look like. Please understand that we do not want to keep this poor pup moving from house to house, unless that one-in-a-million home comes along. Here is Koda Bear's wish list of his perfect family:

1. A FAMILY THAT OWNS A FARM OR LOTS OF LAND. Koda has become a true farm dog. He does not roam from the property, and gets along with any animal (horse, sheep, dog, etc) that he knows to be part of his pack. He loves running in the fields and being free.

2. COMMITTED, DOG-SAVY OWNER WHO UNDERSTANDS DOG INSECURITIES. Koda happily plays here on the farm with all his doggy friends, but as a young male with no consistent home, he has developed insecurities about his place in the pack. ** Koda must get consistent dog-dog socialization to keep his experiences positive. Koda could go to home with another dog, but because he resource guards his bowl (not treats, just dinnertime) from other dogs *INCONSISTENTLY*, you must an experienced owner who is truly committed and willing to work with him on this issue or figure out a way around it.

3. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. Koda has tons and tons of play energy. Ideally, Koda will go to a home that has lots of land for him to play, and/or a flexible schedule or the ability to bring him along to places. Koda travels excellent in the car and would love trips to the snow, and adventures to the water.

4. NICE KIDS. Koda ADORES children and people. Big people, small people, disabled people. Koda was born to be a star and shines when he is around people. It is his biggest strength, and he will win your heart with his snuggles and goofy personality. We would love for Koda to go to a family with dog-loving kids! (Not really a criteria, just a bonus)

----> In short, Koda needs an experienced, committed adopter who is willing to work on all his quirks, embrace his weaknesses as much as his strengths, and understand that he is only 11 months old with all the potential in the world!!!

If you think you fulfill this criteria, and are committed to helping train a young pup for the long haul send your applications our way!
