I am already neutered and up to date with shots.
Meet little Coco! Coco is a lucky little Chihuahua that came to HSSC from Sarasota Animal Services when their shelter became overcrowded. He came to us positive for heartworms but has since been treated and is now ready to find his forever home. Coco is a happy little guy who loves people and making friends and his tail never stops wagging. Being a Chihuahua, Coco has that typical "Napoleon complex" and think he's as big as a Rottweiler so a home where he can be an only dog or can be with dogs his size would work best. Coco is a year and a half old and is only 4lbs so apartment life would suit him just perfect. Come meet this happy little man today!

Our Adoption Process...
Falling in love with a pet is easy and pet ownership is very rewarding. Adopting a pet, however, is a big decision. Dogs, cats, and other furry friends require a lot of time, money, and commitment. Our experienced adoption counselors will gladly help you find an animal that's likely to be a good fit for your lifestyle and living arrangements.
Adoption Fees: Puppies (six months and younger): $150 Dogs: $85 Senior Dogs (7 years and older): $55 Heartworm Treated Dog: $135 Kittens (six months and younger): $85 Cats: $65 Senior Cats (7 years and older): $25
The adoption fee includes the cost of spaying or neutering your pet, micro-chipping, annual vaccinations and a rabies vaccination. There is an additional $13 fee for a Sarasota County rabies tag and registration for Sarasota County residents. Dogs must go home with a leash and collar and cats must go home in a carrier; all are available in our retail store.
Once you've decided that you're ready to make the commitment, check out our website at www.hssc.org to search our adoptable animals.
