Meet our sweet Dancer!

Dancer and her family (mom and other siblings) were saved from a South Texas kill shelter after they were surrendered by their previous owner.  When the family arrived at our rescue, their devoted foster mom did a fantastic job nursing the litter back to good health.

Dancer's mom is a 10 pound Chihuahua blend.  Dancer is 12-weeks old and weighs 4 pounds.

Please understand you are commiting to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more) - not just until her puppy cuteness wears off.

You must also be committed to housebreaking, age-appropiate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Like most puppies, she will chew on anything within her reach to include but not limited to baseboards, shoes, socks, children's toys, electrical cords, etc. She sleeps in an x-pen at night and is learning to use puppy pads.

Dancer's adoption fee is $150.

Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.

All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative, leash and collar, and a 30-day trial of 24PetWatch Pet Insurance.

Adopters will also receive a Petco Pet Parent Savings Books that contain:

• $100s in savings plus a coupon for a free 6 lb. bag of WholeHearted dog food.

If your adoption application is approved, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time from the Austin area.

We do try to schedule bi-monthly meet-and-greets in Austin as interest is generated.

We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.

Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.

About Homeward Bound Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of private foster homes dedicating to saving and finding forever homes for as many dogs as we can. We primarily pull from the local kill shelters, and we also rescue abandoned dogs. We fully vet and assess the temperaments of our fosters and then try to find them the best forever homes possible. We do it because we love them and because we hope our efforts encourage others to do the same. We also participate in local rescue advocacy groups and work in public education efforts to promote spay / neuter and responsible pet ownership.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We aren't a shelter so don't have a public viewing area, but we participate in area community adoption events and schedule meetings with potential adopters by appt. once we have an approved application

Our Adoption Process...

Our policies, procedures, and fees are listed on our website and in our applications and contracts. We require an approved application prior to setting up a meeting (usually a home visit), a contract if the meeting goes well, and a trial adoption period before finalizing the adoption.
