Hi, My name is Jigglypuff and I am an adorable gray tabby and white kitten. How do I know? My foster mom and all of my rescue aunties tell me! I wasn't always so lucky or happy. I am an orphan off of the streets of South Houston and was not in great shape when I was rescued. The ladies from Second Chance Pets got me better and now I am fat and happy, a little "Puff!" Since I was homeless, food is very important to me and I really love canned food. My hobbies are playing with toys, snuggling with other nice kitties, lounging in comfy cat beds and sleeping in my foster mom's lap. I also like to sit on her shoulder:) I really love other kitties and get lonely without my friends so I really would like to go to a forever home with at least 1 cat friend. I also have dog friends in my foster home and I don't mind calm, quiet dogs. I might be a little quiet and shy at first but once I get comfortable, it is all about the play, pets and purrs!!

About Second Chance Pets

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance Pets (SCP) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization dedicated to providing unwanted pets a second chance through foster care and pet adoption programs, educating the public about proper care for their own animals and about animal welfare issues, and working with the public, other rescue groups, and public officials to help resolve the problem of animal overpopulation.

Come Meet Our Pets...

SCP does not have a shelter or an office location. The rescued pets, volunteers, fosters, and adopters who comprise SCP come from all over the Galveston Bay area (mainly north Galveston and south Harris counties). Most animals are fostered and loved in volunteer homes until a permanent home is found.

SCP has cats and dogs available for adoption every Saturday at the Petco store at Bay Area Boulevard and Space Center Boulevard. A few cats may be seen during the week at the Petco location

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters must complete applications so that volunteers can help adopters identify cats and dogs that will fit best in their homes. SCP volunteers review the applications and discuss pet care responsibilities with potential adopters. The adoption donation typically starts at $95 for cats and $125 for dogs.

SCP tries to ensure that all pets are healthy at the time of adoption. All are examined by veterinarians when they enter the program. All are vaccinated, spayed, neutered, de-wormed, tested/treated for parasites and disease (such as heartworms, fleas, leukemia and FIV) as needed. Cats are vaccinated for FVRCP-C and FeLV. Dogs are vaccinated for DHLPP and Corona virus. Animals are kept in foster homes when available to minimize exposure to disease and to help them be well-adjusted. It is the policy of SCP that no cat or dog may be sent to a permanent home before it is fully vetted, including spay or neuter. All of our rescued animals are microchipped.
