Rosalita's Story...
What a fun and happy girl this is! Meet Rosalita! Rosalita is one of our lucky dogs that came to HSSC all the way from an overcrowded shelter in Louisiana where they are still having problems with overpopulation due to the flooding earlier this year. She came to us heartworm positive but has since been treated and is now ready to find her fur-ever home. Rosalita is a beautiful chocolate Lab mix and at only 2 years old, she has plenty of time to grow and bond with her new family. She's a big girl weighing in at 64lbs so her perfect home would be with a family who knows how to handle big dogs and understands their energy levels. Come in and meet this wonderful girl today! Rosalita may just be your new BFF!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosalita, a Sarasota Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Sarasota, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Sarasota.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sarasota already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sarasota breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sarasota paves the way for another one to be saved.
