Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
already neutered, good with kids, and good with dogs.
I am already neutered, good with kids, and good with dogs.
This handsome man is looking for a new home to call his own. Tommy is neutered and since he was picked up running loose, we do not know if he has any shot records. Tommy enjoys going on walks and jogs. Tommy like most dogs would benefit from some manner training.
Act quickly to adopt Tommy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.
The City of Hopewell Animal Shelter is ran by the Animal Control Officers. We service the animals and the public of Hopewell. Our shelter is currently a small scale shelter with 14 dog kennels and 10 cat cages.
Our shelter is often full as we work so hard to find our animals that are not claimed by an owner a new home or an approved rescue.
Most of our animals at our facility are animals that were found running loose that no one came to look for. We do often get animals in from owner surrenders where the people who owned the animal(s) can no longer care for them.
Come on down to the City of Hopewell and meet the wonderful Animal Control Officers and the Shelter staff that care for the animals on a daily basics.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our shelter is at 507 Station Street, Hopewell VA 23860. We are located behind the downtown fire department.
If you are using a GPS device to locate our facility we strongly suggest that you use the address of 200 S. Hopewell Street. That address will put you in front of the Fire Department that we are located about 200 yards behind.
Our Adoption Process...
Fill out an application to adopt. A small back ground is done to confirm that the adopters have not been convicted of animal neglect and/or domestic violence (there is a strong link between the two).
If approved, it's a $10.00 adoption fee for the city, plus the cost of the spay/neuter. The spay/neuter fee varies of the species, sex and weight.
