Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Katara is an 1-year--old female Husky x Shepherd mix. She came into our care with her sister Korra, from a Northern community. They spent their entire lives on a tie out, kept separate so they were unable to spend any time together. The novelty of having two living breathing lawn ornaments wore off and their owners decided they no longer wanted them. When they were turned loose in their first foster home, they ran and ran and ran, played together and laid together in the yard. It was truly an amazing sight to see! Katara started out very shy and unsure but is now very affectionate with people, and solicits attention. Both are incredibly active and LOVE to run. They have been on off leash walks with several other dogs and do incredibly well. They stick with the pack and come when called, once they know their owner. They are quite mischievous and still very puppy like in their behaviors. They have done great with other dogs and cats, and are getting used to life indoors. We hope to find these beautiful girls each a loving home who will allow them to be inside and a part of a family.
Katara will need to go to a home that has a lot of time to spend with her, and that can exercise her adequately. Like most Huskies, if left alone too long, she will get into mischief and chew. A family that can continue her kennel training for short intervals would be an asset.
Katara's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, current vaccinations, current de-wormings, microchip, a leash, collar, and some food. Adoption forms can be found at www.cleoskarmacaninerescue.com and are required to be submitted prior to meeting the dogs.
Katara is currently fostered in Brooks.
