The other puppies here always try to steal the show, but I am the show, so let’s take a look into my life. I am pretty young, so I have lots of growing to do, but I can’t seem to convince anybody to take me home. That’s where you come in. I am the runt of my litter, so that is quite a setback, but just because I am small doesn’t mean I’m not awesome. Playing is my skill, but I am pretty good at snuggling too. I don’t have any memories worth telling, but we could make some amazing ones that would always make a good conversation. Oh, I forgot to tell you my name. I am Abby the Great, or at least that’s what I like to refer to myself as. So, stop whatever you are doing and take me home with you, because I am beyond ready.

About Sally Wetherbee Adoption Center

About Our Shelter...

SWAC is a no-kill shelter that runs off of generous donations and volunteers. We pull dogs and cats from the Albany Humane Society. Once they arrive at SWAC they will stay here until they are adopted. Our state of the art facility includes all indoor, air conditioned kennels, a grassy play yard, two cat colony rooms, and a meet- and- greet patio! Every dogs gets ample time to play with his or her four-legged friends and volunteers every day! Our cats and kittens live in colonies instead of cages which allows them to be socialized as well.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located at 2223 Dawson Road in Albany, Georgia. Our building is directly across from Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 11-6 and Thursday and Friday from 11-7. Stop by to see our amazing residents!

Our Adoption Process...

All applicants must complete our rigorous screening process including a vet reference check and home inspection (depending on animal). We require that all of our animals remain on preventatives and receive yearly vaccines after adoption. Once the application has been approved, the adopter must sign a contract agreeing to maintain the health and well-being of the animal at their expense for the remainder of the animals natural life. Our adoption fee is $120 for every animal in the shelter. We ask that you bring a leash and harness or a crate to transport dogs and all cats must be in a carrier.
