The most epic gift ever by giving me Epic. Epic is a stunning Young Seal Point Ragdoll male mix about 12 months old. He is sweet, he is cuddly, he is affectionate, he gets along well with other cats, he loves people, and he is perfect except for one little thing...
Epic loves food so if you are a Gourmet Chef or any kind of cook at all, Epic would love to come and live with you. Of course, you have to realize that he will help himself to your food occasionally. You will have to be sure that when you are cooking your steaks that the oven door is closed or else you will have no steak. You have to make sure that your sandwich is protected at all times or you will no longer have a sandwich.
Epic's fear that there will not be enough food for him stems from his life on the streets in Amarillo. If I grew up in a situation where I never knew there was going to be enough food or if I never knew I would even be able to find any food, I would also want to always make sure that there was enough food available and that my belly was full just in case there was a time when there wouldn't be food available for me.
Epic is never going to face the situation of starving again, but he doesn't know that. We are going to make sure he goes to a home where he will be fed the food that he needs to eat and where the people will understand his starving cat syndrome and work with him to get over it.
If you're looking to take an Epic adventure this Christmas, then look no further and come and adopt Epic from Merlin's Hope Ragdoll Rescue.
Epic is a young and very playful, energetic cat. He must have another young cat or kitten as a companion. If you're interested in adopting, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for an application. He is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas.
Adoption Fee: $150
Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.
Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.
Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.
COMPANION CAT POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
