Mortimer had languished at the Downey shelter for a long time until he was transported to the Castaic shelter where we saw and fell in love with him.  He is such a distinguished fellow, all he needs is a tweed jacket and a pipe and he could star in a movie as an English professor.  He is sweet and lovable but is particular about being picked up, which he does not enjoy much and he will let you know so.  His tail is paralyzed due to an old injury, which could be the reason for his dislike of being picked up too. the good news about this is that you won't have to worry about knick knacks being knocked down by a wagging tail :).  He gets along wonderful with all the dogs here and walks well on a leash.  He will make a marvelous friend and companion to a lonely heart.

He is about 5 years old, and weighs approximately 10-12 pounds.  He is neutered, micro chipped and up to date with all his shots.

Please call 661-724-0642 if you would like to meet him

About Paw Parent

About Our Rescue Group...

Our goal is to fight for the plight of all companion animals so that none of them will ever
have to experience the horrors of being imprisoned in a pound system, where most of them are executed for the “crime” of being unwanted and homeless.
Animals entering our sanctuary will be given exceptional loving care and all the necessary medical attention whether short term, until adopted or for their lifetimes.
The survival of the sanctuary depends entirely on the support and donations from supporters, members and volunteers.
Through your generous giving we will be able to save countless lives in the future.

Our Adoption Process...

If you have found a pet of your liking on our site and contacted us we will make sure to get back to you as soon as possible.
We require a potential adopter to fill out an application.
If the application is satisfactory we will contact you to set up a time to meet. We also do home checks to make sure that the house or apartment the pet will go to is safe. The pet will be brought to your home at the time of the home check and if everything looks good and goes well the pet will be left with you. We are asking for an adoption fee and we also will have you sign a contract.
We allow a two week trial period during which the money will be refunded if it turnes out to not be a match. After the two week period the adoption fee is not refundable.
