Fiona is a very pretty young dog, despite her unfortunately cropped ears. We think they just add to her quirky charm. She is a dog who greets life with verve and enthusiasm. She loves it all - people, toys and other dogs. Sometimes her exuberance gets the best of her, particularly when she is around other dogs, and she can be a little overwhelming in her play style. She has no bad intent, she just has not yet learned to curb her enthusiasm. Choose her playmates carefully to be sure they are well matched in size and play style.

Because she is large and strong she will do best with sturdy kids of at least ten. In her prior home she occasionally knocked over younger children in her excitement. An active family who will include Fiona in all their activities will be to her liking. Also, she will need vigorous daily exercise - are you a runner or avid hiker?

Fiona is quite smart and treat motivated which will make training with her lots of fun. And remember that mental stimulation is as important (and equally tiring) as a physical workout. Dogs need both to be happy and healthy. Start out in Family Dog 1 and go from there.

Fiona is still an adolescent and will need a significant amount of structure, management and guidance, but she has unlimited potential to be a fantastic family companion.
