Mystic is such a little peanut - at under 20 lbs and about 1 year old, this Beagle mix is a sweetheart. Her favorite place to be is on your lap (or under the covers with you at bedtime!) - she's such a snuggler. Mystic is a very social dog - she loves the company of other dogs and people, so a home with a companion dog and her human home most of the time is ideal. With her nose always to the ground and puppy energy to e xpend, a fenced yard is a must for Mystic. She is just about house trained, and she does very well in her crate when her foster family is not home (the longest she's been crated in her foster home is about 3 hours). We also think she'll do best in a home with children ages 12+, as she will take things that don't belong to her (like small toys left on the ground). She's learning to drop items on command and is doing very well! This one is a smart cookie.
Mystic walks well on leash, and doesn't meet a stranger. She will bark that Beagle bark at dogs and people on the other side of the fence, but only to say, "Hi and let's play!" Her foster family doesn't have any, but we've heard from the shelter that Mystic gets along well with cats, too! She loves playing with toys - does well bringing it back to you for some tug-of-war ... and she enjoys chewing on bones.
Check out her cute video here - it includes pictures of her snuggling with the resident dogs in her foster home, videos of her playing with them, and super-cute photos of just her!

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster.
