Facts about Abba
Color: Tan Or Beige
Abba is best friends with Ambrosia. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Ogham is the (neutered) father of Abba and Ambrosia, and they are an extremely happy little family!! Ogham is a sweet, gentle old man who is very happy to sit in your lap all day and hang out. Ambrosia is also a calm chin who is comfortable with people holding her. Abba is definitely the boss in the family, but she is too a good girl!! The older chins get, the calmer they generally are. This little chin family would be great for a first time adopter. They are healthy, well behaved, used to all other animals and have many years of love left to give!
Chin Friends Chinchilla Rescue was started because the exotic pet trade in our country is busier than ever before. With the availability of these animals, many people impulse-purchase them, not realizing the commitment they are making. It gets overwhelming for some, and others didn’t quite realize the financial commitment or time commitment. Some people just lose interest, or their lifestyle changes and the pet does not fit in anymore. There are not many resources for people with exotic pets, and we aim to provide that for chinchilla owners.
We also realize great pet owners are made- not born that way, and each one of our adopters will have access to help, suggestions and any support they may need in the future.
Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our chinchillas are in private foster home, so we do not allow the general public to see the chinchillas without first filling out the adoption application. Once an adopter is approved, we will be happy to set up a private meeting so you can meet any chinchillas you are interested in adopting.
Our Adoption Process...
Unlike some rescues, we do not require a home inspection. We do require that you are prepared to agree to some basic expectations, including providing a proper cage, veterinary care from an exotic specialist, air conditioning, and a clean, quiet, smoke-free environment.
There is an adoption application available for download on our web site, and there is a $100 adoption fee per chinchilla. After filling out an application, one of our volunteers will speak with you for more information.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
