Fred is an approximately 1 year and 2 months old, 18lb neutered male terrier mix. We highly recommend he go to an experienced dog owner!

Fred needs time to adjust and settle in to  new environments and needs somebody with prior dog experience or someone who currently has another dog. He needs a home with patience people plus a relativley quiet environment without a lot of noise. He needs someone who can provide and keep up his positive training since he is very smart and loves learning new things. He knows a good amount of basic commands. He should not be left alone for long periods of time until he builds confidence. Though he was in a home with a family in Los Angeles, he is nervous in NYC and needs a very calm, loving and caring family, and should be in an adult only home with full grown children.

Once Fred warms up and feels secure, he is super loyal and loving. Fred does still have a lot of puppyish energy. He is very active and likes to play and chew on toys.He loves a nice 30 min. walk in the morning and evening as this keeps him calmer in the house and helps him use up some of his energy (and its great exercise for us too). He is very smart and a fast learner. He would do best with a good natured dog sibling since he enjoys playing with others. He doesn't mind cats.

Fred is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped.

Fred was rescued in LA as part of our Waggy West rescue mission to bring At Risk dogs, one by one to NYC for adoption! We are always looking for volunteer chaperones to bring at risk dogs like him with them on their next LA-NYC flight, we pay the dog's ticket and provide a carrier! Email if you can help!
