ZORRO's Story...
Say hello to the sweetest 2 year old boy around, Zorro! He must have had a loving home at some point before coming to the shelter as a stray on 11/24 because he knows all of the commands he has been given. He sits, shakes, shakes other paw and lays down and is very gentle on a leash. Zorro is already neutered and current on his vaccines. He will be tested for heart worms and micro-chipped when adopted. You will find this sweet boy in run 90 and his ID# is 590576. He is only 45 pounds so just the right size. Hurry in to meet him.
When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ZORRO, a Marietta Saluki dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Saluki for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Saluki dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Saluki breeders who help with Saluki rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
