Hello, I'm Almond Joy and I think you look like a wonderful choice for my forever friend! I don't give my heart away at the drop of a hat, but if you will give me some time and space to settle in and adjust to my new life, we can be buddies. Once I'm comfortable, I love to go on walks, play, and spend time curled up with my best friends. If you like to relax on the couch with a good book or a favorite movie, I'll be right there with you. I may always be on the shy side and hope you will love me any way. I have this feeling that we're kindred spirits, so how about we spend some quality time together to be sure?Almond Joy came to OHS through The Second Chance Program from Madera Co. Animal Services.

This pet comes with peace of mind thanks to a free Banfield Pet Hospital Optimum Wellness Plan including twice a year comprehensive exams, dental cleaning, diagnostic testing, vaccinations, and much, much more.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance for Oregon Residents and plenty of post adoption support!

About Oregon Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

•Visitors can meet one-on-one with pets in our "Get Acquainted Rooms." Bring the whole family--even your dog.
•To meet one of the animals in foster care, contact the Foster Care Department by calling (503) 416-5025 or email to set up an appointment. If provided in the animal's description, you may directly e-mail the foster care volunteer.
•If your pet meet is a success, you'll need to complete an adoption application (please do not fax or email the application, although you can download it and fill it out before you visit).
•You will be interviewed by an OHS adoption assistant to be sure you are familiar with any special needs the animal might have.
•We have a variable adoption fee policy based on an animal's age, breed, temperament, behavioral issues, and physical condition. Learn more here. If you are over 60 years old, be sure to ask about the adoption discount offered through the Pets for the Elderly Program.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt a pet at OHS, you'll need to fill out an adoption application and complete an interview with an adoption specialist. But what's more important is everything that comes before the application and the interview, namely, finding the best match possible.
