Astrid's Story...
"Meet Astrid:
She has had a rough start at life. She has been chained outside her whole life until AC picked her up. She is about 3yrs old, 57lbs Black German Shepherd with a tint of red when the sun hits it. She is good with dogs when properly introduced, as she hasn't had the best history with them (got a chunk missing from both ears and small white hairs on her face and paws that were once scares from a dog). She is currently being potty trained (which she's learning really fast) and will be starting with kennel training soon. She will not be good with cats or small dogs as she has a high prey drive. She LOVES people tho and is good with kids as well. She is still skinny and needs to gain at least another 10lbs.
She is eager to learn and please her person.
Astrid is utd on shots, flea/tick prevention, spayed, and microchipped."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Astrid, a Manhattan German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
