Just as Charlemagne, or Charles the Great as he was often known, was known to be slightly grandiose in his behavior, so is our Charlemagne. Charlemagne is a stunning flame point, front paws declawed ragdoll. He can be incredibly sweet winding around your legs and showing you all the love that you deserve, or he can be the grumpy emperor that he was and tell you that he has had more than enough and you need to leave him alone for a bit.
In fact, he is pretty much the epitome of most declawed cats that we receive in rescue. Most of them like Charlemagne and even like Lady Genevieve have very determined personalities. Charlemagne knows when he wants attention and he knows when he does not want attention and he will let you know when he does not want attention. He makes it very clear.
He is about 5 years old, and while he would do well in a home with other cats, he does not have to go to a home with other cats. He is actually a really wonderful cat, but he does need a cat experienced family and probably one without small children who might not understand his moods.
If you are interested in adopting this quirky cat, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for an application. He is now in a foster home in Ennis, Texas
Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.
Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.
Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.
KITTEN POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
