My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakli is an absolutely adorable, black and tan, female German Shepherd. She is one year old and is a very petite girl, currently weighing 31 pounds. She is underweight and should be around 40 pounds once she reaches her ideal weight. She still has a lot of puppy energy and is a very active girl. She is crate-trained and housebroken.
She is good with older kids, and other dogs and cats. She is a little shy and insecure with new people and situations so she will need a patient, nurturing family.

ADOPTION: Training (for both the dog and the family) increases the probability of a successful adoption. We feel strongly that training is an essential part of responsible dog ownership and we now require training for every dog placed through the MTGSR program. The cost of adoption is $500 which includes the
$250 adoption fee and a training fee of $250 due at the time of adoption.

For the adoption fee, the dog will be spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations, current on heartworm/flea-tick preventatives and microchipped.

The training fee will include a plan tailored to that specific dog and that dog's needs (obedience training, behavior modification, etc.) and typically includes three private training sessions.

PLEASE NOTE: Our philosophy is “Rescue locally, place locally” which means we primarily pull dogs from shelters in the Nashville area AND we prefer to place our dogs in homes within a one-hour drive of Nashville. If you are outside of the Nashville area, please consider adopting a homeless dog in your local community.
