* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, December 10th from 1-4pm and Sunday, December 11th from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Roxy is a 6 year old GSD. She has lived with the same family for the last 5 years. Recently due to family issues she was headed for the shelter and a friend of the rescue intercepted her. She's great with other dogs. She's not an instigator. She's not a dog who creates issues. She has always lived with other dogs. She is an option for the dog park or doggy day camp. She has met a variety of dogs and has done well with everyone. Roxy is a lover girl. She's still active and energetic and fun loving but she can also settle down. Even when groups of children were yelling and screaming and in general creating chaos she didn't seem to be bothered.

Roxy is not a barker. She is a dog who meets people and is instantly friendly. She'll lick you to death, so watch out! She is a beautiful German Shepherd with all of the Shepherd traits that people fall in love with...She can do the hikes, the biking, the walking, the dog park but the great thing is she doesn't have to do it every day. So if you're someone who wants a dog who doesn't require daily marathons but on the weekends you'd still like to go on a long hike or run on the beach or head to Crissy Field, she's your girl.

If there are kids in the home, they need to be over the age of 6. She is potentially an option for someone who hasn't had a dog recently but demonstrates on the application that they are prepared for a large breed dog.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Doggie Protective Services (DPS) - Palo Alto

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
