Birdie's Story...
We admit it: we're partial to old Labs. Their sweet, gentle spirit -- their loving eyes and calm personality -- we just fall in love every time we meet one. And Birdie is no exception. This beautiful lady is an Idaho native who arrived to us last weekend. She has been enjoying some quiet time in her foster home and is now ready for adoption. At 8 years young, Birdie would love to spend the rest of her life with a forever family. She is very sweet and loving and just wants to be next to her person all the time. Birdie is quickly learning to live with people and other dogs in a home environment, and her low energy and patient demeanor make her a delightful companion. She is reported to do well with cats and kids, too. To meet Birdie, please call the Rescue at 208-794-0944, and we will put you in touch with her foster mom.

If you want to apply for Birdie, please visit the rescue and fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Birdie, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
