Dante is an 11 month old (DOB - 12/22/2015), red & tan, cropped and docked, 65 lb male Doberman. Owner turn-in due to boyfriend-girlfriend break-up. Lots of vim, vinegar, and energy; will chase balls forever (doggie ADHD?). Loves to run, so due to his age and vigor, a fenced-in yard is a necessity. Walks well on leash. House trained. Very inquisitive, so counter-surfing is an enormous temptation. Needs to work on manners, but is food-motivated. Initially skittish with new people until he gets to know you. Other dogs and cats are an unknown. Loves to chew, so bone money is important. Rides well in cars. Will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family!
DAR&E is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving the burgeoning needs of Dobermans in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and eastern West Virginia areas.
Our primary directives are to educate the public about Dobermans, to assist owners in placing unwanted Dobermans, to provide foster homes and veterinary care for rescued and relinquished Dobermans and to place Dobermans into loving homes through our adoption program.
Our primary concern is the health and well being of the Dobermans we foster and adopt out.

Our Adoption Process...
We only adopt to approved adopters who live in the Maryland, Virginia, DC or West Virginia areas. We do not make exceptions. We perform homevisits, vet checks and require an adoption fee to cover part of our costs. Our dogs are all up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If you see a pet you are interested in, please go to our website (www.dobe.net) and submit an adoption application.
