staffordshire terrier/lab mix

Pun (also known to his foster family as Poe) is one special guy. He came to HHS as an owner surrender  due to the fact that his owner had a change in his life and could no longer keep this boy. As sad as that was, Pun was a trooper. He went from being an only dog, into a foster home with some very bossy dogs(while always keeping his sweet nature). He was diagnosed with heart worms shortly after and began his treatment. He has since battled some other respitory issues. He has been with his foster family for almost a year now and has been cleared for adoption. Where ever he goes, people comment on what a sweet boy he is with such a calm demeanor. This boy is one big, sweet, loveable  guy! As one might decipher, his foster family has become very attatched to him. He has excellent house manners in that he is housebroken, crate trained, does not chew on anything other than his toys and seems to hang out where ever his bed might be (he currently uses a dog door but don't foresee any issues with adjusting). Pun does very well on and off leash. He would make an excellent candidate as a therapy dog for visiting nursing homes and such.  It  must be noted that he should go to a home that will be able to monitor him if any respiratory issues might flare up. He is up to date on shots, on monthly heart worm and flea preventative. He is also microchipped. He is approximately 4yrs old.

All of our animals receive vaccinations, testing and altering appropriate for their age. All pets will be microchipped prior to placement. The pet overpopulation problem has reached a crisis stage. We will use all of our resources to spay and neuter all pets in our care.
