Henry's Story...
Henry is a 4-year-old kitty who was given up by the owner that had him since he was a kitten due to her upcoming move. His back was horribly matted when he arrived and he was so well-behaved when we removed the mats even though it had to hurt and took a long time to cut through the solid mass of hair. Now that he is mat free, he loves to be brushed. He was also a very good boy for a recent nail trim. He's a nice mellow guy.

To apply for a cat or kitten, please fill out our Cat and Kitten Adoption Application: http://www.medfieldshelter.com/adopt

The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers and all visits to the Shelter must be scheduled in advance to insure one of our volunteers is at the shelter to meet you. Our adoption fee for adult cats is $125. Our kitten adoption fee (cats up to 6 months old) is $160 for a single kitten or $260 for a pair. The adoption fee includes the first set of vaccines, dewormer, combo testing and spaying/neutering when old enough.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Henry, a Medfield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Medfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Medfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
