Hi my name is Coco and I'm a GREAT dog!!! I am a sweet year-and-a-half old pittie mix looking for a family to take me in and take good care of me, is it you? I bring a LOT to the table! I play gently with kids, get along with everyone, and might even be okay in a home with cats! I'm completely house-trained AND crate-trained -- I am SO good at 'holding it'! but I prefer to go out and play :) I even know some commands! Right now I'm recovering from a little hair loss from a fungal infection when I came in, but my hair is all growing back great! (and while I was getting my medicated baths, the people here at AHS even found out that I'm GREAT at getting a bath! I just sit politely and give kisses!) Come visit me today and see what a great dog I am! I have been spayed, I'm microchipped, and up to date on all of my vaccines -- all I need is you!

About Atlanta Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and the oldest private charitable organization in Atlanta, founded in 1873 following a visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, clinic, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Road Adoption Facility was opened in December of 2011 in Alpharetta.

It is our mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
