Bessie's Story...
Bessie was rescued from a high kill shelter with her 5 kittens. Unfortunately, within a day of being rescued, the kittens were sick and diagnosed with panleukopenia. Despite the best round the clock medical care, 3 of the kittens did not survive. The 2 who did, spent almost three weeks in the hospital. An excellent mother, Bessie stayed with her kittens and cared for them throughout their ordeal and then they returned as a family to their foster home. As they grew, she continued to watch over them and teach them. A playful, inquisitive girl in her own right, Bessie has a great purr which she willingly shares with you in return for any attention. A "high jumper," one of her favorite spots is on the very top of the bookcase where she can watch over the entire room. It is hard to tell if she is curious about the workings of the computer or just wants to be next to you, but she may just push the "order" button for you by accident.

Bessie is ready to find her forever home. She has received all age appropriate vetting and care.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bessie, a Tega Cay Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Tega Cay, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Tega Cay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tega Cay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tega Cay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tega Cay paves the way for another one to be saved.
