Facts about Hero

  • Breed: German Shepherd Dog Mix
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Hero is a handsome and goofy black and tan male German Shepherd who is about five years old. He was with an animal hoarder who had over 40 dogs and most, like Hero, were in neglected condition. Now that he is getting some much needed TLC, we have found Hero to be a happy and playful boy. He doesn't have much training so can pull on the leash. He has been good with a number of dogs he has met. Due to his size and lack of training he is best in an adult home. Point a camera at him and Hero poses for the photo like he IS all that!

If you are interested in meeting/adopting Hero, please fill out our adoption questionnaire which you can find at http://www.scgsr.org/adoption/aq/.

Hero is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a collar, all included in adoption fee.

If adopting is not a possibility right now, could you join us in saving lives by giving a dog a temporary safe place to live for a week or more? Contact us to find out about fostering. Please refer to our website for contacts www.SCGSR.org.

About Second Chance German Shepherd Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance German Shepherd Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run, foster-based German Shepherd Dog rescue serving the greater Bay Area and Sacramento/Roseville regions of Northern California. Our primary focus is rescuing German Shepherd Dogs from life threatening situations in overcrowded shelters where they are in danger of being put to sleep. We adopt our dogs into loving, responsible permanent homes. German Shepherd Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, and receive basic veterinary care while they await placement in their permanent homes. We work with area shelters and other rescue groups to develop a network of support for German Shepherd Dogs in need.
