A Little Bit About Me

Chico is small of stature but has a big personality. He is playful and friendly and is looking forward to learning the finer points of fetch (like returning the ball). Even though he looks like a lap dog, and indeed would probably love to snuggle in your lap, he would prefer to get there under his own power. If you pick him up he starts to shake and is more comfortable with four on the floor.

His needs are few: a short daily neighborhood stroll, some nutritious food to help him gain weight and quality time spent with his people. He enjoys playing with small, well-mannered dogs and has lived with several in the past. Larger dogs or ones with a forward approach will be corrected and then ignored, proper behavior in Chico's world.

Give dear little Chico half a chance and he will show you just why you want to take him home with you.

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
