My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey! My name is Skeeter! I'm a 4-month-old male Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix. I weigh around 5 pounds right now, but I have some growing to do before I'm full grown.

I don't think I need to state the obvious, but have you seen how downright adorable I am?! Some adjectives I'd use to describe myself are playful, affectionate, happy and sweet. I'm super outgoing and friendly, making new friends wherever I go. Whether you're a human or a fellow canine, I'm sure I'd love to meet you.

I was found as a stray, running around the streets of South LA, when I was brought to the pound. While there, the veterinarian examined me and noticed that my front left leg was sticking out oddly and I was having trouble walking. The shelter didn't have the resources to get me the surgery I so desperately needed, but lucky for me, CageFree came to my rescue! They pulled me from the shelter and sent me to their private veterinarian for an evaluation. It was determined that my leg was fractured and needed to be realigned in a straight position to heal properly. I got my surgery that very same day, which is where I got my cast.

Now I'm resting and recovering for the next 8 weeks or so. Even with this giant cast on my leg, I still have plenty of puppy energy. I'm not allowed to play in the group with the other dogs right now, but when it's time for my potty walks, I can't contain my excitement! Once my activity restriction is lifted, I think I'm going to love hiking and going to the dog park and the beach. Life as an adorable puppy, post surgery or not, is grand!

Here's something else you should know about me. I just love giving kisses, so if you like getting them, I might just be the right pup for you. My ideal family would be active, and eager to take me on adventures. You should be ready and willing for the challenges and rewards of raising an amazing puppy like me. If you think that I would make a great addition to your family, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet me. I am so excited to find a forever home!
