Max's Info...

I am housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Max's Story...
Max is a 10 month old Golden Retriever that is looking for a experienced home.
Max will need a lot of training, right now he is a teenage boy out of control. He is a busy, guy with alot of potential. Doggy Classes are a must with this young lad. Max is a very sweet dog that never met a stranger. He is open, friendly and outgoing towards everyone. He loves to play fetch ( well which Retriever dosent) and to run.
Max is 95% housetrained and knows sit.
Max will require extensive attention so he should be the only animal in the household even though he appears friendly towards other dogs ( still needs some socialization, Doggy daycare and playmates on a regular basis would be perfect)and does not show alot of interest in the cats here at the Shelter.
Children in the household should be 10 and up to prevent injuries due to Max not knowing any boundaries and knocking them over ( he is NOT aggressive!!)
If you are interested in Adopting Max, please come to the Shelter and fill out an Application. At this point online Applications are not possible!

Max's Adoption Fee is $82, which includes: Microchip, Vaccines ( Distemper & Rabies),Heartwormtest and deworming. If you're interested please call (785)239-6183! If no one answers then please leave a message! You can also contact us via email at

Act quickly to adopt Max. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Fort Riley Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Fort Riley, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Fort Riley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Riley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Riley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Riley paves the way for another one to be saved.
