This timid young dog upon arrival at the shelter was very fearful and would hide outside his kennel. Once on leash he would walk hesitantly, but would follow. He is a timid dog that exhibits head shy behavior. Once he warms up to a person he is very needy and affectionate. He does exhibit some mouthing/nipping behavior that will need some training to manage. Once placed with a confident canine companion his behavior blossomed and he became more confident and social with strangers. He would love an active family that is willing to help him build confidence. Group training classes will provide him with positive socialization and basic obedience. Crate training recommended to prevent separation anxiety and prevent destructive behavior when left alone. He will need a family dedicated to helping him build confidence and become a more social outgoing dog.
People for Pets is a grassroots 501c3 organization that was formed in 1988 whose primary purpose was to assist the Twin Falls Animal Shelter by improving the care of their impounded companion animals.
For years we have been helping companion pets find new homes. Our staff and volunteers provide care and loving attention while they are residents of our shelter, but we have so many furry friends that are in need of loving homes! Take a look at our adoptable friends and see if someone catches your eye today!
We are always looking for more volunteers to come and help out at the shelter. If you are interested, please click here to learn more!
We hope to see you soon!
