Calli & Ripley's Story: Feral Cat Rescue received an email from a woman who had a cat with a severely infected eye. She also needed help in getting the 24 cats vetted that were in her house and outside. Two volunteers went to look at the cat with the infected eye named Yoshi to see what we could do. Due to overcrowding Yoshi’s eye had been scratched by another cat. There were 19 cats and two sisters living in a space that was about 20 feet by 15 feet. The women have very kind hearts but were clearly in over their heads and needed help vetting and finding homes. First we took Yoshi and 4 of the other most adoptable cats in the house and got them vetted and fostered. We gave the women a trap to catch the illusive mother cat outside that was nursing four little ones in a box on their porch. We also vetted the other 14 cats and returned them to their inside living situation where they live to this day. We are hoping when kitten season slows down to try to get some of those adopted but at this point in time we still have Cali & Ripley pictured here who need to find a home. Yoshi had to have the infected eye removed and she is happily the only cat living with a terrific couple. We also found homes for the four baby kittens. Won’t you consider adopting Calli and Ripley together? You could foster to adopt to see if you don’t fall in love before paying money if you aren’t quite sure. They are super sweet and very well behaved. Let us know please! Thanks.Calli

About Feral Cat Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Feral Cat Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to humanely reducing the feral and stray cat population in St. Mary’s County through a variety of methods without euthanasia. With our Trap-Neuter-Return program, feral cats are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated and sterilized by veterinarians. Healthy adults cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers or those people already feeding them. Under our adoption program, the kittens and tame young adult cats that are adoptable are temporarily placed with foster families until they can be permanently adopted into good homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoptions at our local Petco store every Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm and most Saturdays from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.

2. If approved, we make arrangements to bring the cat(s) to your home to meet with your family.
3. At that time, we give you the medical records and you sign the contract and pay the adoption fee which is tax deductible. Our adoption fees are $125 for a kitten and $75 for an adult cat.
4. When you sign the contract, you are promising to vet the cat yearly as well as sick visits. You also promise to give the cat back to Feral Cat Rescue if in the future, if you are no longer able to care for your cat(s). We do not want to see any cats turned over to the shelter or sent outside to fend for themselves.
