Maya's Story...
Maya is a sweet 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel who finds herself in need of a new home due to a move to an apartment that doesn’t allow dogs. We’re still getting to know her but she adapted quite well to her foster home. Maya has a playful side and has shown us that she likes playing with her toys. She has been left alone for up to 5 hours without any issues. Maya led a quiet life with a man and is a little shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly once she feels comfortable. She is a quiet passenger in the car and enjoys going for walks. Maya would make an excellent companion for a retired or semi-retired single or couple with a quiet and calm lifestyle. Please complete an adoption questionnaire at if you are interested in giving Maya her forever home. Maya is expected to be at the upcoming adoption day in Hudson on Saturday, December 3. Details with a link to a map are available on our website.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Rigaud Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Rigaud, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Rigaud.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rigaud already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rigaud breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rigaud paves the way for another one to be saved.
