My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rosie is an 8 year old, 25 pound Beagle. Her temperament is exceptional. She is one of the few dogs who is good with everyone. This is a dog that could easily walk into your home and you would think she had been there all her life. She knows the routine of a home and the joy of a soft dog bed. Rosie is perfectly housetrained and has never even had an accident at her foster home. Typically Beagles can be pretty vocal, not Rosie. If she barks, there is a reason.
Rosie likes to go for long walks and walks nicely beside you. She does well in the car, she looks around until she gets bored and then lays down and softly snores on the seat beside you. Rosie will go in a kennel but doesn’t like to be kenneled. She flipped the latch on her crate the second day in her foster home. When her foster mom got home from work she was asleep on the couch, nothing was disturbed but apparently she prefers the couch for her afternoon naps.
Before coming into rescue, Rosie was a stray and had been on her own for a couple months. A lady was leaving food out for her and let Rosie sleep in her garage when it started getting below freezing at night. Little Rosie just wanted back in a house and needed some help. She had a hernia on her lower abdomen that almost touched the ground, an abscess on her neck that was as large as a human palm and badly needed some dental care. She was infested with fleas and didn’t know where to scratch next. Rosie is now flea free, her hernia has been fixed, antibiotics took care of the abscess on her neck and her teeth are all pretty. She was very good natured about all her flea baths and vet care. Rosie seemed to know we were trying to help her.
Rosie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped. Rosie likes sniffing around her yard and would love a home with a fenced in yard.
