My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WALLY is an 8 month old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 40 pounds. He is a cute pup who loves to be with you and get petted, especially stomach rubs. He is a little shy when he first meets you and fine after that. He hasn't retrieved yet and is just starting to play with toys. He is a little hand shy (if you raise your hand suddenly he goes down on his stomach probably due to prior owner. He would like a family that will give him plenty of attention, love and training if they do he will make them wonderful companion . Good with other dogs, has been out with other LR dogs at the kennel. Cats unknown - wasn't interested in cat he met at the kennel. Knows sit come and down (most of the time). Will have Training Addendum as he is a young dog. Hasn't been on lead much would need an Easy Walk Harness. Crate trained. Wally is approved for kids ages 10+.

See him at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH_Eq42RDDM .

Wally is a sweet happy pup who likes to get attention and be with people. He was in the shelter because of a court case and was pulled by a rescue group we work with after the case was settled. They asked us to take him to get him out of the area and to make sure he got in a good home.

This dog is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. To avoid this, for now we are limiting placement to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound) Adopters must travel to Maryland, Virginia or Washington DC with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.

Lab Rescue LRCP has between 50 - 80 dogs available for adoption from foster homes across Maryland and Virginia and at monthly adoption events. The adoption event dates are listed at www.lab-rescue.org.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. Within a few days of submitting an application you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a home visit is required.
