Facts about Precious

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 172114
  • Hair: Short
Precious is one big precious boy! He is on the reserved, shy side, but still loves attention--just be gentle and a bit on the reserved side yourself so as not to scare him! Precious enjoys petting and will purr up a storm for you. He would love to have a quiet, dignified home where he can find a special spot to watch the world go by. He is quite fond of all kinds of boxes and will seek out a comfy box--whether it is a common cardboard box or a fancy store bought box to sleep in.

When you bring Precious home, he will need an area like a bathroom to stay in where he can get used to the new smells and sounds of the new household. Outfit the room with a large litter box, food and water bowls, a few toys and a high sided bed or a bed in a box. He will most likely hide at first and come out of his hidey spot only to use the litter box and to eat. Visit him often, talking to him so he will get used to your voice. When he comes out of hiding to greet you is about the time you can let him explore other areas of your home, a little bit at a time. Make sure he always has an easy path back to his litter box. If you have a very large home or it is two stories, provide Precious with two litter boxes.
