Alfred's Story...
Hi, my name is Alfred but my friends call me Alfie. I was saved by Habitat 4 Paws just before Thanksgiving and I must say that for that I am thankful. I am settling into my new foster home quite well. At first I did not feel that great...then the rescue vet told my foster Mom that I have crystals in my urine. They were worried I might have stones but the X-rays showed I do NOT! Thankful yet again. All this means now is that I need to be kept on a special diet to keep the crystal production down. Once you get to know me, you will agree that this is no big deal. You see, I have such a sweet personality that will make you fall in love with me. I am 2 years old, am housebroken and walk right by your side on the leash. I am shy upon meeting people for the first time but am coming around quickly to where this should not be a problem for long. I am crate trained as well. I love playing with my foster brothers and sisters who are my size and smaller. You can find out more about me by emailing info@habitat4paws.org.

**Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the "Adopt" page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alfred, a McKinney Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) for sale in McKinney, or seeking a Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) dog from a breeder in McKinney.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McKinney already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McKinney breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) breeders who help with Fox Terrier (Wirehaired) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McKinney paves the way for another one to be saved.
