My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweetie is Nina, a 5 ½ year old 86 pound Rottweiler. Her disposition is exceptional, all she wants is love. Her favorite place is wherever you are, leaning against you with her head in your lap looking adoringly into your eyes.
Nina comes to us from a kill shelter in Iowa, she had been there 4 months and was at the end of her time, Rottweilers are euthanized every day in shelters. The bully breeds are usually the first to die. The Animal Control Officers there saw something special in her, they rallied to get her the help she needed to have a mammary growth removed and to get a growth removed from her mouth. Once Nina was all fixed up she patiently waited for a home or rescue. The workers at the shelter let her stay in their office by day and would have to leave and put her back in her kennel by night. The workers liked her so much they chose to let her live and got Nina the medical help she needed to be healhy again.
The biggest problem Nina faced was the founder of the Wisconsin Rottweiler Rescue passed away suddenly, and that left our area without a Rottweiler Rescue, so until a space was found for her she was in danger. Nina found us and she is safe until she finds her forever home.
Nina has been spending her evenings going from person to person for a lap or a kind word, she is currently in a home with Parrots and shows no interest in the birds. Her Christmas wish is a family to call her own.
Nina has not had much experience with other dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in her home.
