Gonzo's Story...
We can't imagine the sadness and heartbreak that a pet goes through when they spend their life in a home and are then uprooted and brought right back to where they started. Thankfully, Gonzo is with us, where he started back in December 2011. Gonzo is a beautiful 5 1/2 year old boy that came to us in 2011 with his littermates when they were all found as strays. Gonzo got adopted but after four years, he was returned due to a family members allergies. Of course it's sad for the family too, but our main concern is for the animal.....it's always for the animal. Gonzo was upset and scared at first, but he recognized his old friends and began mushing against his caretaker after a little while. Gonzo is now just as super sweet, mushy, and loving as he always was, and is happy to make new friends. He's playful and fun-loving, and he gets along with other cats just fine too. Gonzo is ready to meet a wonderful family that will welcome him into a good home where he will be loved and cared for forever. File#26791 10/22/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gonzo, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
