My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“A child, more than all other gifts That earth can offer to declining man, Brings hope with it, and forward-looking thoughts." - George Eliot's 'Silas Marner: The Weaver of Raveloe'
Well in this case we actually mean an adorable little fur kid with a silly personality. Silas is a 5 month old tan Shepherd mix currently weighing 30 lbs. It is doubtful he will get much bigger than 45 to 50 lbs. Silas is doing very well with his house training. He lets himself out by way of a doggy door and has had no accidents in his foster home since being there. Because he is still a youngster, and for his own safety, he is currently crated only when foster mom goes to work and she says he has done awesome. He has free run of the home under supervision to include through the night. He settles in quite well and sleeps through the night on his doggy bed near foster mom (he is allowed to sleep on the human bed if he wishes). Silas can seem a bit shy initially with big people but warms up in no time when he realizes they are kind and pup friendly. The same can't be said for kiddos. Nope he adores little people on sight and is very well behaved with them. He is very comfortable with and loves playing with the little human guy in his foster family. If he's not playing with the little guy then he can be found close by or cuddling up with him. Silas does have a tendency to get really excited when playing with other dogs and can sometimes get a little rough but responds well to correction. Foster mom is working on some basic commands with this handsome boy and we are betting he will do great. He continues to improve daily walking on leash and he definitely loves going for on his family walks. Toys are a must for this pup (as with all pups). He loves just about any toy given to him and can usually be found carrying his 'toy of the day' in his mouth. Silas is already neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and micro chipped. He is ready to find the forever family who will give him the gift of love and hope. In return he will be a loyal friend and companion all the years of his life. Sounds like a win win for all!
