Hi there! My name is Libby (formerly Lily in the local shelter) and I am 1 1/2 years old and currently 60 lbs. Currently because I should be about 65 lbs and my foster mommy is working on fattening me up! I was saved on the day I was supposed to be euthanized...and all because I became aggressive to the shelter staff...after my former family left me at the shelter because the landlord said I grew too big to live with them. I wasn't really aggressive...just really, really scared out there! I wouldn't let anyone come near me...and in fact fought them the whole time they were trying to release me to my new foster mommy. She got me to her house and calmed me down and now I am stuck to her like Canine Velcro! Even when I am laying at her feet...I am touching her with my paw or laying my head on her foot. I love to sit right next to her on the couch and watch tv too! I also like to sleep in bed right next to you too! I know how to sit and shake, I am crate and house trained and I take my whole head and put it under your arm to get closer for a big hug! I even will grab or hook your leg with my paw...and hold on to you! My foster mom has four other dogs living here...and I love to play and wrestle with them! I am just discovering what toys are....put I take them and put them all in the corner and try to keep them all! I am learning to play with my housemates. Sorry...but I find those furry felines...very tempting to chase...so no kitties please. So if you are looking for a big baby girl who will be your constant companion...fill out my application and I will be over to give you big kisses and hugs!

About St. Francis Society Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Some of our cats ready for adoption can be seen at the following Adoption Center locations:

PetSmart, located at 12835 Citrus Park Dr across from the Citrus Park Mall. Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 10:30am to 2:30pm only.

Petco, located at 13127 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.
