My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let’s give a great big welcome into rescue for wee GAEL!  This little rough coat female border collie weighs just over 30 pounds and is believed to be about 4 years old. She’s a quiet, shy girl who will make a lovely companion for the lucky person looking for a low key canine companion.

GAEL loves to hang out with foster mom as she does her household chores or will curl up at mom’s feet on the sofa. Outdoors she explores the garden as mom and dad sweep the patio and rake leaves. GAEL looks quizzically at Puckle Cat, but that’s the extent of her cat curiosity.  Similarly, she is very respectful of the other dogs at her foster home. GAEL has become comfortable enough here to start playing with the dog toys or may settle in for an evening nosh on the deer antlers provided for chewing. She bounced around the yard when Christmas decorations were being put up and generally is enjoying being part of a family!

GAEL’s house manners have been impeccable and she has not demonstrated any bad habits such as digging, barking, or chewing inappropriate items. She appears to be housebroken, having had no accidents in her foster home. When mom or dad reach out to pet her, her tail gets all waggly and her body all squiggly! GAEL is good walking on a leash, crates well and is quiet in her crate overnight.  Wee GAEL'S simple Christmas wish is to be in her forever home in time for Christmas! Can you make her wish come true?

GAEL is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about GAEL, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

GAEL is being fostered in Auburn in Placer County, California.
