My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Color: Liver & White
Weight: 65 lbs
Variety: Bench

Mickey is a big boy who is full of love! He is super smart and has great manners. Most importantly, he truly wants to please his people. Mickey is housetrained and crate trained. He enjoys sleeping at the end of the bed on his own doggie blanket.

Mickey loves to play with the resident dogs. Even the bossy female dog in his foster home likes him! Mickey would make a great second dog in a household, but he would also do just fine as an only dog. His previous owner said that Mickey likes to chase cats and play with them, so if there are cats in his Forever Home, they will need to be dog friendly. Mickey would be fine with living with children aged seven and up; toddlers move too unpredictably, which can scare him!

Would you like a companion in the car when you run errands or take road trips? Mickey enjoys riding in vehicles and is excited to look out the windows. A good bonding experience for Mickey and his adopters would include working on his basic obedience and leash training. This boy is a great student, and he treasures the treats offered as rewards for practicing commands. He continues to improve at the groomer. Mickey previously lived on two and a half acres. He would explore as much as he wanted to and then come back to the house when he was ready. Therefore, he will need a fenced yard if his Forever Home is in the city or the suburbs. Otherwise, he might think that the whole neighborhood belongs to him!

At times, Mickey shows great energy. He seems to be channeling his puppy spirit as he squeaks his toys and plays with them. But Mickey also likes to settle in with his family. He will lie next to you, often watching your every move, until he falls asleep.

If you think that Mickey is the companion you have been waiting for, please e-mail his coordinators at the address below right away. This charming guy won't be on the availables list for long!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Mickey.
