My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simon (orange) & Garfunkel (grey) are 2 sweet, handsome and gentle brothers. They are about 1-1/2 years oldOwner (a disabled vet) was forced to give them up due to landlord and financial issues. Simon was unfamiliar with dogs when he arrived, but after 6 months he is now part of the gang in his foster home. He is not only comfortable with the dogs and cats in his foster home, he now plays with one of the cats and rubs on the dogs. He is kind and respectful to the elderly cat, and slightly deferential to the dominant cat in the house. He is friendly with people including visitors, and begins to purr his extremely loud purr as soon as he is approached with an open hand. He enjoys sleeping in a tall cat tree and is very good about using his claws only on the cat tree and leaving other furniture alone. He can be picked up and moved, but has not been held a lot. He will lay on the sofa beside his humans and enjoy petting, but is not really a lap cat. Overall, he has a sweet and friendly personality and is very easy to live with. He enjoys batting balls around the floor and will play with a laser pointer.

Simon’s brother Garfunkel is also sweet, but he is more timid than his brother and his progress in adjusting is a little slower than Simon’s. He does very well with the other cats, but is still cautious about the dogs. He enjoys attention and petting from his own humans, but still tends to keep out of sight when there are visitors. He tends to get panicky when picked up, but will jump up on the sofa when invited to sit beside the humans for some petting. He can still be a little jumpy about sudden noises and movements, but given more time, some patience and perhaps fewer/quieter dogs, I’m sure he would make a very good adjustment to a new home. Garfunkel is also very good about not using his claws on furniture and, like his brother, enjoys playing with toys and a laser pointer.
