Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Darling Benny arrived at the shelter at the very end of November, and just saw the vet, so he is now all checked out and ready to find love with a real family. This large, beefy tuxedo is really just a big lovebug. He bears the scars of many a run-in with more aggressive cats, including a couple of cauliflower ears. We're not sure why any cat would mess with a guy as big as Benny, but maybe it's because they knew he was a pushover. He's so sweet and loving, reaching out with his paws to say, "Hello, come kiss me, come nuzzle my head," to his volunteer friends, and doing belly-rolls for us. It's almost as if he's saying, "Thank you for rescuing me from that life outside." It's hard to fathom how a big male stray like Benny could have learned to be so lovable, yet taken so many beatings in his life. We're just happy that his previous, difficult life on the outside, fending for himself, is over. Though we haven't mingled him with other cats just yet, as he is so new to the shelter, he seems very interested in the ones that nose around his cage. His mild disposition should make him a good companion for just about anyone, including children, but we have yet to see how he feels about dogs. And though we are touched that this guy actually seems grateful to find himself at the shelter and in a cage, we know that there is a better life for him, perhaps in your loving home.
Benny is estimated to be 7 years old, is box-trained, neutered, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please).
