I am up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Shawn (white stripe) and Kyle are a dad and son duo who were surrendered to a local shelter. Both were terrified and trembling in their kennel, both completely shut down. We rescued Shawn and didn't think twice about keeping these two together. We don't know if they were abused or under socialized, or both. But very slowly they are coming out of their shells and finding their confidence and happy. Both are kind and affectionate. Shawn is 7 years old and weighs about 12 lbs and Kyle is 1 year old and weighs about 10 lbs. They seem to be a mixture of dachshund, chi, beagle and maybe a splash of min pin. It's a mystery! At this time we consider them a bonded pair and will adopt them out together. Dad and son will do well in a mellow and quiet home where they can move at a pace that's comfortable for them. Soon enough, though, we believe that they'll be a pair of fun-loving, playful and enthusiastic little boys!
Tails of Gray is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization that offers a safe and loving sanctuary for senior dogs regardless of breed, health or ease of placement. Our goal is to prevent needless euthanasia through the offering of shelter, adoption, foster, hospice and education. All Tails of Gray senior dogs are spayed and neutered, microchipped and receive appropriate veterinary care and treatment. Tails of Gray welcomes the unwanted and heals the sick. Those precious senior dogs who cannot be healed will spend their final days in a comfortable environment where they experience unconditional love, some for the first time.
Our Adoption Process...
To adopt a dog from Tails of Gray, you must:
1. Complete an online application for adoption. 2. Meet your prospective pet. If your application to adopt is approved, our adoption coordinators will schedule a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt. 3. Complete a home visit. If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed. 4. Finalize the adoption. After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!
