My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ASPEN

Neutered Male     White     Poodle/Westie Mix     5 yrs old     11 pounds

May I introduce myself?  My name is Aspen, and I’m the new face here at the kennel.  I’m told by the other guys that I’m supposed to tell you all about myself and that will make you want to come and meet me and then I can find a forever home.  That’s the main thing we talk about among ourselves – finding our forever homes.  So here goes.

First of all, I am a very well behaved.  I think it’s just my natural disposition, though it is also partly because at 5 years old I am past all of the puppy hijinks.  In fact I think this is just the best age to be.  I’m in my prime with many years to share with a new family, and yet old enough to have attained some dignity.  But I’m not too dignified to enjoy romping on the grass or playing with a toy.

Behavior is important, I know, but looks are helpful too when looking for a new family, so I will point out that I have the softest, silkiest white coat that you will just love running your fingers through.  And no one here at the kennel seems to think it sheds, so your furniture will be safe if I’m cuddling with you on the sofa.  And I have a smiley face as you can see in my photos.

I’ll be a good companion for you.  I pay attention to people and try to figure out what they want me to do, so it should be easy enough to train me to your ways.  I like my walks, so I’d be good company there too.  Sometimes the volunteers walk me with another of the dogs here and I get along well with them.  Don’t know how I feel about cats – there are some at the kennel but I haven’t really had the chance to meet them up close.  They seem to like walking around on table tops which does make it hard to have a conversation.

There’s plenty more to know about me, but I hope this enough to get you to call and make an appointment to meet me really soon.  It would be so nice to have that forever home in time for the holidays!

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.

The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
