My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the best little one year old cattle dog- heeler mix, Oscar! High energy and active Oscar was adopted as a very young puppy through our rescue but he is too active a dog for his adopters. 30lb Oscar is truly the best boy and is looking forward to his next home who can get him the exercise and activity outlets he needs and deserves. Oscar is super smart, knows his basic commands and is totally house trained. No surprise as a herding breed that he loves chasing balls and frisbee and would love an experienced adopter who wanted to work with him on agility or flyball. Oscar loves people and very other dog he has ever met! He would love to go to a home with another dog too! He is the best playmate and awesome companion for people and canines. In his current home he has many doggie friends who request him to " come out to play"! He loves to play chase and is very good at getting his doggie buds moving! Oscar is extremely social and is very enthusiastic when he first meets everyone. He is crate trained, neutered and vaccinated. His only training issue is his breed inherited "herding nippiness". So he will need his heeler knowledgeable adopter to teach him his herding appropriate behavior. Oscar has not been exposed to cats so slow introductions would be necessary. Oscar has had a good amount of training, group classes and individual training but his current adopter is not comfortable with his nipping/herding as well as his high energy. He is currently living with young children, and as you can imagine- he tries to corral them up. Oscar loves the outdoors and will make an excellent exercise and adventure partner. He loves running and especially trail running, and loves the water- he can't wait to accompany you on your many outings. He is trained well on a leash and has been well cared for in his first home. He loves balls of any kind, his current adopter says he enjoys nothing that moves!! Oscar is available to meet this Saturday, December 10th and ready for adoption then. His adoption fee is $400. Any questions about this amazingly outgoing and social play partner, please email Pam at raincityrescue@gmail.com. Or to apply for him right now, please go to www.raincityrescue.com/adopt. This best heeler baby boy can't wait for his experienced herder enthusiast family to come forward and take him to his truly forever family!
